thank you for MICHELLE JERSON. and thank you for our ryokan articles  August 29th 2012.  While Tokyo is an awesome city with so many distinct sections, try to allow yourself to get out of the city and head to places such as Kyoto and Nara.  I am so glad I extended my trip to include these areas which are just 2.5 hours on the bullet train from Tokyo.  If I had  more time, I would have gone to Hiroshima and it’s adjacent island where you can find a shrine in the water, Hakone, known for it’s mineral onsets and beautiful views of Mt. Fuji or to Mt. Fuji if in the months of July and August when people begging climbing.  Make sure you do your research when it comes to train passes and accommodations, because if you know at least four days in advance of heading to Kyoto, you can get discounts online that will cut your train pass by almost one hundred dollars and you’ll find packages that include hotels and tours.  Because i made a last minu...

the Office New Year's Party

On February 16th, we held the office New Year's party at Ristorante Strada. http://www.strada-oike.com/ Most of our staffs partook this party. At first we had a speech from our president. We raised a toast and we enjoyed having Italian course meals and chatting for a while. Each meal tasted delicious and also provided a sense of fullness. After that, we had a game. We made 7 teams and competed the speed to place ginkgo nuts on the dish to another one with chopsticks. It is very difficult to snare ginkgo nuts with chopsticks because the surface is smooth.. Everyone with a serious look ^^ Of course we could get some prizes. What are there in? After the game, we sang songs with piano and ukulele playing. You are my sunshine ~ ♪ The music made us happy smile. We had a very good time! We thank you all for your continuing support. See you! NISHIYAMA RYOKAN

Soap bubbles

We had a family from Italy a couple days ago. They were on their holiday and visited Japan with a child of 3 years of age. The boy explored everywhere, then cried and yelled as most children do. His mother looked busy taking care of him all time. In the morning they came down to have breakfast. (We serve breakfast in the dining room.) As you can imagene, the boy could not keep quiet in the room. His mother was worried if they bothered other guests because of him. So,we thought if there is anything we can do for them, and decided to play with him when his parents are having breakfast. We gave him a toy- Its soap bubbles. This is the picture of it. Look at his smile! How cute:) We were glad that he enjoyed blowing soap bubbles. I think it should be hard for a family to travel with their infants. Thats why helping them will be my great pleasure. Thank you for staying with us. We hope to see you again!
