Tanabata Festival

Tanabata (also called "the star festival") is held on July 7th.
It is the only day a year that the star Altair crosses the Milky way to meet the star Vega.
On this day, people write their wishes on strips of paper and hang them from bamboo tree.
It is believed that those wishes come true on Tanabata.

We had our guests make wishes...and here is one of them!!!
written by two pretty sisters from the U.S.

Thanks to our guests, we had more wishes on the bamboo tree.
I hope all the wishes come true.....

Lucky Taxi

This morning, a yasaka taxi with pattern of a four-leaf clover came to our ryokan. Most yasaka taxies are with a three-leaf clover. Taxies with a four-leaf clover are only 4 in Kyoto city. We cannot make a reservation, so this is very lucky. It is said that this taxi bring you a lucky. If you ride on it, you can get a special certificate and sticker. When youcome to Kyoto, let’s find yasaka taxi with pattern of a four-leaf clover. May this picture bring you good luck!
